Job Description

Shift: 10:00 PM-6:30 AM

Hourly Rate: $25.73 an hour + $1.00 shift differential

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration system while developing the technical skills required to become a certified refrigeration operator. You will assist with inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities while participating in safety and compliance programs within a manufacturing environment

A Taste of Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily operation and monitoring of the ammonia refrigeration system

  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report abnormal conditions

  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities

  • Learn to safely operate and maintain compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and associated equipment

  • Participate in Process Safety Management and safety programs

  • Follow all company safety procedures, lockout tagout requirements, and environmental regulations

  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and maintenance documentation

  • Respond to refrigeration system alarms and assist with troubleshooting efforts

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams

  • Participate in on call rotations following training

Ingredients Required for Your Success:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Strong communication skills

  • Technical school coursework or experience in industrial maintenance, heating ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, or mechanical systems or one year of industrial refrigeration or maintenance experience

  • Mechanical aptitude and commitment to continuous learning

  • Strong commitment to safety practices

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Basic understanding of refrigeration principles preferred

  • Experience using hand and power tools preferred

  • Experience troubleshooting closed loop mechanical refrigeration systems preferred

  • Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator certification or Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator certification preferred

  • Operator 1 or Operator 2 training preferred

Physical Requirements:

More information on the essential tasks and facility will be shared during the hiring process. Please be aware that in a manufacturing environment, the noise levels can be high and the temperatures may vary. Depending on the role, physical and environmental requirements can differ but include:

  • Being on your feet, walking around the facility, climbing stairs/ladders or kneeling for extended periods of time.

  • Performing consistent repetitive tasks.

  • Frequently lifting, pushing or carrying materials.
