HVAC Chiller Technician - Union

As an HVAC Senior Journeyman with Carrier, you will uniquely impact our customers, becoming the face of the confidence we stand by while ensuring their comfort. Your knowledge of Commercial HVAC will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities: 

• Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation 
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units 
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions 
• Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibrate thermostatic controls 
• Install new heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- and high-pressure liquid lines 
• Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of the unit and make necessary adjustments; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps 
• Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems 
• Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; clean coils, blowers, check motors, and belt tensions 
• Assemble and install metal ductwork 
• Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems 
• Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations 
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required 
• Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely 
• Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties 
• Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe working environments 
• Participate in a comprehensive OSHA-approved safety course (preferably an OSHA 10- or 30-hour course) and adhere to company and regulatory compliance programs 
• Obtain or carry current low-voltage electrical card 
• Obtain or carry an EPA refrigerant license 
• Wear appropriate company-issued uniform 

Required Qualifications: 

As a Senior Journeyman, you understand the importance of providing expert and quality service. We are looking for an individual who has: 

• High School Diploma/GED 
• 8+ years practical working experience in the HVAC Industry 
• 2+ years of experience working with Water-Cooled Chillers.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift 50lbs or more 
• Must be able to stand, crawl, sit, squat of extended period of times  
• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier 
• Must either be a current union member or willing to join a union 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Other experience and qualities you may have that would be beneficial in this role include: 

• Basic understanding of building automation controls 
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
• Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax is a plus 
• Journeyman License, and union approval by passing examination regarding the abilities and know-how of Building Trades Journeyman, conducted by an Examining Board,
