Job Description
We are hiring an experienced HVAC Estimator for our Greensboro team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, material, equipment, and labor estimates involved in assigned products, projects, or services.
Conduct studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
Prepare the required bid information to submit to subs and vendors to obtain pricing for quotes.
Perform required take-off’s of material and equipment for estimates.
Layout of piping and duct systems for takeoff purposes.
Layout and size refrigerant piping systems for the purpose of take-off and perform layout for calculations and takeoffs.
Produce a final price estimate.
Investigate new technology to improve efficiencies.
Review of project contracts.
Qualifications, experience and education:
Design experience sizing ductwork and piping systems recommended.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in estimating in HVAC industry
Strong systems knowledge in sheet metal, piping and exhaust systems
Experience with HVAC systems for Data Centers, Large Manufacturing facilities, Pharmaceutical industry, Laboratories, Universities, Food and Tobacco Industry
Knowledge or experience with WMBE type projects
Required skills:
Strong negotiation skills with customers and business associates
Ability to shift priorities and deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, including technical, professional and upper management within AC Corporation.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong work ethic
Highly organized and ability to multi-task responsibilities
Computer skills to include Bluebeam, Auto-Bid Mechanical, Autodesk, MS Word, EXCEL, Outlook and online applications
Must be physically able to visit job sites to include climbing ladders, squatting and walking.
