Responsibilities

• Inspects and performs HVAC equipment repairs and replacements. 
• Completes building preventive maintenance including lighting and plumbing. 
• Paints areas of the building.
• Completes preventive maintenance and repairs of heating and air conditioning systems.
• Performs electrical wiring.
• Makes any necessary repairs when needed.
• Repairs and inspects boilers, pumps, and valves.
• Regularly visits Outpatient offices for maintenance needs.
• Performs monthly environmental rounds.
• Completes preventive maintenance record keeping monthly.
• The full aspect of remodeling: hanging and finishing drywall; painting; ceiling replacement.
• Drives Gateway vehicles, as necessary. 

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC systems.
• Skilled at using light hand tools. 
• Knowledgeable and skilled at doing general building repairs to walls, etc. 

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED 
• HVAC equipment operation experience 

Preferred Requirements

• Five years of building maintenance experience.
• Trade School. 

Additional Requirement 

• Pass a PA Criminal Background Check.
• Obtain Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
• Pass Drug Screen.
• TB test.
• Must have a valid driving license and a favorable driving record.

Work Conditions

• Exposure to noise and inclement weather.
• Significant physical demands include the lifting of 50 pounds or more using body mechanics safety techniques.
• Mental demands include quick decisions and responses in emergencies and adherence to a schedule that is frequently interrupted. 
• Climbing ladders and working on rooftops when necessary.
