What You’ll Do 

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on Refrigeration and HVAC equipment and systems. 

  • Troubleshoot issues in equipment and systems 

  • Conduct inspections to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and compliance. 

  • Document maintenance activities and completed repairs. 

  • Respond to equipment issues and maintenance-related emergencies. 

  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to improve reliability. 

Work Environment 

  • Temperature‑controlled manufacturing environment with regular exposure to cold 

  • Occasional exposure to vibration 

  • Loud noise levels typical of manufacturing operations 

  • Tight or high spaces are possible 

How Military Experience Fits 

Your military experience may be considered in lieu of some civilian manufacturing or maintenance experience requirements outlined below. The following are shown for guidance only. Equivalent civilian experience will also be considered.  

  • Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, or Crew Chiefs 

  • Power Production, Generator, or Utilities Specialists 

  • Mechanical Maintenance, Machinery Repair, or Allied Trades 

  • Electrical Power or Industrial Electronics Technicians 

  • Hull Maintenance Technicians, Enginemen, or Machinery Repairmen 

  • Facility Engineering or Base Operations Maintenance roles 

Relevant Backgrounds May Include (Not Required): 

  • Army: 91B (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic), 91D (Power Generation Equipment Repairer), 91E (Allied Trades Specialist), 91C (Utilities Equipment Repairer), 15T (UH-60 Helicopter Repairer) 

  • Air Force: 2A (Aircraft Maintenance career fields), 2A6X6 (Aircraft Electrical & Environmental Systems), 3E0X2 (Electrical Power Production), 3E1X1 (HVAC/R Specialist) 

  • Navy: MM (Machinist’s Mate), EM (Electrician’s Mate), EN (Engineman), GSM (Gas Turbine Systems Technician – Mechanical), GSE (Gas Turbine Systems Technician – Electrical) 

  • Marine Corps: 21XX (Ground Maintenance occupational field), 1141 (Electrician), 3521 (Motor Vehicle Mechanic) 

  • Coast Guard: MK (Machinery Technician), EM (Electrician’s Mate) 

Requirements (Must Haves) 

  • Experience or education in Industrial Maintenance, HVAC/R, Industrial Refrigeration, or fields related to maintenance of the following: 

  • Refrigeration Systems  

  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience preferred but not required for most roles 

  • HVAC Systems 

  • Boilers 

  • Electrical Systems 

  • Motors 

  • Welding and Fabrication

Compensation Range: $19.75 to $51.15 base pay with potential for additional bonuses and shift differentials

The posted compensation range reflects Tyson Foods Inc. compensation range for this role across all locations and levels 01-08. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
