Residential HVAC Service Apprentice

Every season is busy season.

Summer means AC calls. Winter means no-heat calls. Spring and fall mean tune-ups. HVAC is a trade that never slows down, and Ostrom is looking for an apprentice who wants to learn it from the ground up. You'll ride alongside experienced service technicians, get paid while you train, and work toward your certifications, a lead tech role, and a truck of your own. No experience needed. Just bring the drive, and we'll teach you the rest.

What You'll Do

• Work alongside lead technicians on residential heating and cooling service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
• Learn system diagnostics, airflow, and how heating and cooling systems really work
• Perform routine maintenance: cleaning coils, replacing filters, and inspecting electrical connections
• Learn refrigerant basics and EPA handling requirements
• Move, load, and position equipment, ductwork, tools, and supplies
• Keep your truck stocked, clean, and ready to roll
• Protect every customer's home with drop cloths, floor coverings, and shoe covers, and leave it spotless
• Represent Ostrom with courtesy and respect in every home you walk into
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and EPA guidelines

Requirements

What You Bring

• Reliability, a strong work ethic, and a real willingness to learn
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand and power tools
• Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work on ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and extreme heat and cold
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, insurable driving record, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
