You'll primarily work independently, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and installing commercial VRV and VRF systems while serving as a technical resource for customers and other technicians.

A company vehicle, mobile phone, and PPE are provided to ensure you're equipped for the job.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose refrigeration-cycle issues and make corrections to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot VRV/VRF systems involving power wiring, unit controls, motors, blowers, fans, bearings, refrigeration, gas and electric heat, economizers, VAV boxes, and fan-powered boxes.
  • Perform advanced VRV/VRF equipment installation, start-up, and service.
  • Work with copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, electrical connections, gas hookups, hydronic connections, and equipment hanging.
  • Assist with crane direction and equipment start-ups when required.
  • Serve as a technical resource on difficult or complex VRV/VRF service problems.
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to less-experienced technicians.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including filter changes, bearing lubrication, refrigerant pressure checks, and burner adjustments.
  • Participate in ongoing manufacturer and technical training to stay current with VRV/VRF technology.
  • Accurately complete required service documentation.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales, and management.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience installing and servicing commercial VRV/VRF systems.
  • Valid CFC / EPA 608 refrigeration certification.
  • Advanced understanding of commercial heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and/or electrical systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial VRV/VRF systems.
  • Strong refrigeration-cycle troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex system issues.
  • Ability to safely and legally operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work after hours when needed.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn additional software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of Daikin VRV Service and Troubleshooting training or similar manufacturer-specific VRV/VRF training.
  • Advanced experience diagnosing complex commercial VRV/VRF systems.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other HVAC technicians.

Don't check every box? If your experience is a little different but you have strong commercial VRV/VRF expertise and believe you can bring value to the team, we'd still like to hear from you.
