How to Swap a Job Posting

Filled your position before your 30 or 60 day posting ran out? You do not lose the time you paid for. You can swap in a different job for the remainder of the posting's duration, including a job in a different city or state. Your expiration date stays exactly the same, and there is no extra charge.

Two Ways to Swap

  • Do it yourself: edit the posting from your employer dashboard. Takes about two minutes. Steps below.
  • We do it for you: email the new job details to support@hvacjobshq.com and we will make the swap for you, usually the same day. This is also the way to go if you posted without creating an account.

How to Swap a Posting Yourself

  1. Go to hvacjobshq.com and click Login in the top navigation. Sign in with the employer account you used when posting.
  2. Click Account in the top navigation to open your employer dashboard.
  3. In your job list, find the posting you want to swap and click its Edit button (pencil icon).
  4. On the Edit Job Posting page, replace the old details with the new opening: job title, city, state, zip code, job type, experience level, pay, and the full job description. Update the benefits and certification checkboxes, and change the application URL or contact info if they differ for this role.
  5. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the form.

What Happens After You Save

  • Your changes are live immediately. There is no review delay.
  • The posting shows up in job searches for the new city and state right away.
  • The remaining posting time carries over unchanged. If the old job had 19 days left, the new job runs for those 19 days.
  • You can edit a posting as often as you need during its run.

Tips for a Clean Swap

  • Rewrite the description fully for the new role so candidates are not confused by leftover details. A strong listing covers an overview, requirements, and responsibilities.
  • Double-check the application URL. If candidates apply on your own careers site, this link should point at the new requisition.
  • If pay differs between the two roles, update it. Postings with accurate pay get noticeably more applicants.
